INTRODUCTION TO OUR NEW COMPANY AND
HISTORY OF OWNER.
For those of you that do not know me and my toy company, Toys 'N' Stuf,
here is a brief history of myself and my involvement with 1/6th scale custom
items. I have been selling collectible toys since 1976, when I moved to
the USA from England. In 1984 I saw the market for GI Joe and started to
import from England the Action Man product. I was one of the first to do
this in large quantities. With 23 years of military service in the British
Army, I have a vast knowledge of military uniforms and weapons. In 1990
I saw the need for custom weapons to be made. At that time an original Japanese
Rifle was selling for around $90 and a German Rifle for $25. I learned how
to mold in resin and made these two items, which were sold for $15 each.
Between 1990 and 1994 I produced over 50 different weapons, over 100 uniforms
and outfits, and 100's of accessories. The only other custom makers in those
early days that I knew of were Mark Cole and Dave Rogers. Both of them produced
great quality items but in small quantities. I mass marketed my products
worldwide and sold 1000's of items in the first few years. As time went
on new customizers popped up all over the place following my lead, many
of them original customers of mine. Next to come along were the big boys.
I could not compete with them and let the customizing business decline,
concentrating on my main business of selling collectible toys and promoting
toy shows. In the past 10 years with Hasbro reintroducing the 12" figure,
21st Century and Dragon coming on the scene, the custom market is booming.
I feel it is time to get back into the market with a line that has not really
been catered to. Action Figure Ceremonials will concentrate on producing
flags and accessories to dress up action figures for ceremonial parades.
Most of what is planned will not be produced by the big boys due to the
political implications.
